How to Destroy a Destruction Lot

Unlike Closing a Destruction Lot, which only prevents Grow Technicians from adding additional weight to the lot, destroying a Destruction Lot indicates that the waste material in the lot has been physically destroyed. Please note that destroying a Destruction Lot is irreversible; once the lot is destroyed, you cannot reopen the lot to add additional waste. Required permission(s): destruction_lot_read, destruction_lot_update, 1. Open the Destruction module. mceclip0.png 2. Select a Closed Destruction Lot from the index to open the Destruction Lot's Profile. mceclip1.png - Before proceeding, check that the Destruction Lot and its sublots/child lots are closed. If not, Close the Destruction Lot. 3. Click Edit to unlock the Destruction Details section. mceclip2.png 4. Fill out the fields provided. mceclip3.png - Destruction Address: The destruction location. - Destruction Method: The mode of destruction. - Witness 1: The primary witness to the destruction. Any individual who holds a security clearance and is an employee of the licence holder is qualified to witness the destruction of cannabis. - Witness 2: The secondary witness to the destruction. - Accompanied By: The person accompanying the Destruction Lot if the destruction takes place offsite. 5. After populating all fields, click Save. 6. Click Destroy Lot. This opens the Destroy Lot modal. mceclip4.png 7. Select the Date of Destruction in the field provided. mceclip5.png 8. Click Destroy to destroy the Destruction Lot. mceclip6.png Visit the Destruction Process Guide for a comprehensive list of all destruction options available through the Seed-to-Sale software.

How to Close a Destruction Lot – Destruction Module

Once a Destruction Lot and its associated child lots are full of waste, Grow Technicians must close the Destruction Lot in preparation for destruction. Closing a Destruction Lot is not the same as destroying the Destruction Lot. When a lot is closed, it means that Grow Technicians can no longer add weight to the lot. This ensures that the weight is accurate when the lot is finally destroyed. Closing a Destruction Lot is also possible through the Gun App. Required permission(s): destruction_lot_read, destruction_lot_update 1. In the Destruction module, select an Open Destruction Lot. This opens the Destruction Lot's Profile. mceclip0.png 2. Close any Open child lots. 1. Open the Child Lots tab. mceclip1.png 2. Click the icon beside a child lot to open a menu of options. mceclip2.png 3. Select Close Sublot. This opens the Close Sublot modal. mceclip3.png 4. Enter the child lot's closing weight in the field provided, including the vessel's tare weight. mceclip4.png - Note*: The closing weight may be less than the Weight Sum field if degradation occurs in the destruction vessel. For example, liquid waste may partially evaporate, resulting in a lighter closing weight.* 5. Click OK to close the child lot. mceclip5.png 6. Repeat steps a-e for each child lot. 3. In the Destruction Lot's sidebar, click Close. This opens the Close Lot modal. mceclip6.png 4. Read through the Input Weight Sum and Closing Weight summaries. If everything is in order, click OK to close the Destruction Lot. mceclip7.png After recording the Destruction Lot's closing weight, the licence holder can Destroy the Destruction Lot.

Destruction Settings

When destroying plant material, a Grow Technician must identify why the destruction is taking place, and specify the cannabis substance being destroyed. A licence holder can customize the acceptable options for each field in the Destruction module's Settings tab. The Settings tab splits into two sub-tabs: Destruction Reason Codes and Destruction Substance Types. Destruction Reason Codes The Destruction Reason Codes sub-tab allows a licence holder to customize the acceptable reasons for a destruction event, such as trimming leaves, eliminating moldy plants, or removing plants or seeds that are not viable for production. Click New to Add a New Destruction Reason Code, or click on an existing reason code to Edit or Archive the entry. mceclip0.png Destruction Substance Types The Destruction Substance Types sub-tab allows a licence holder to customize the cannabis substance types that Grow Technicians regularly destroy, such as seeds, flowering plants, and dried cannabis. For reporting accuracy, a licence holder should be as specific as possible when creating destruction substance types. Click New to Add a New Destruction Substance Type, or click on an existing substance to Edit or Archive the entry. mceclip1.png The Seed-to-Sale software allows you to define each destruction substance type by one of three categories: - Flowering material is defined by the CRA as "the whole or any part (other than viable seeds) of an inflorescence of a cannabis plant at any stage of development, including the infructescence stage of development. Inflorescence is commonly defined as a combination of the flowers and the ultimate small twigs of the branching system subtending the flowers. This includes what is commonly known in the industry as the bud and the small sugar leaves or other materials (bracts, stems, etc.)" - Non-flowering material is defined by the CRA as **"**any part of a cannabis plant other than flowering material, viable seeds and a part of the plant that is a non-viable seed, a mature stalk without any leaf, flower, seed or branch of the plant, fiber derived from a stalk of the plant, and the root or any part of the root of the plant." - Untrackedrefers to a substance type that does not fit neatly into either of the other two categories. This is, in part, to satisfy Canada Revenue Agency's monthly reporting requirements. Consult the Cannabis Act to ensure the correct category is selected for each destruction substance type. For more options to customize your experience in the Seed-to-Sale software, visit the Settings Module.

Destruction Lot Profile

A Destruction Lot Profile hosts detailed information and actions for a specific Destruction Lot and its associated destruction events. The Destruction Lot itself it not a physical vessel that stores plant waste. More accurately, a parent Destruction Lot is a means by which to group child lots–also known as sublots–which are the physical receptacles that store plant waste in preparation for destruction. Child lots of a parent Destruction Lot may be spread throughout the licence holder's grow facility, but they are considered part of the same lot and are destroyed as a unit. mceclip0.png A Destruction Lot Profile splits into four tabs: Overview, Child Lots, Contents by Source, and Weight Events. When you open a Destruction Lot Profile, the Overview tab opens by default. Overview mceclip1.png The Overview displays basic information about the Destruction Lot, including the lot's name, the total input weight to date, and the lot's date and time of creation. Click Edit to change the Lot Name. Once a Destruction Lot and its associated child lots/sublots are full of waste, click Close to Close the Destruction Lot. Closing a Destruction Lot precedes destroying the Destruction Lot. When a lot is closed, it means that Grow Technicians can no longer add weight to it. This ensures that the destruction weight is accurate. When the time comes to Destroy the Destruction Lot and its contents, the Destruction Details section allows the licence holder to track where the destruction took place, the method by which the waste was destroyed, and all witnesses to the destruction. Any individual who holds a security clearance and is an employee of the licence holder is qualified to witness the destruction of cannabis. Leave these fields blank until the Destruction Lot and its sublots/child lots are closed and ready for destruction. After the destruction event takes place, click Report to Download a PDF Summary of the waste destruction. Navigate back to the Destruction module landing page to Create a New Destruction Lot.

Destruction Module

The Destruction module allows a licence holder to organize and track all plants or plant matter destroyed at their facility. Health Canada regulations require licence holders to track and report every gram of cannabis that passes through their facility, including any material sent for destruction. Destruction Lots log waste in preparation for destruction. Destruction Lots break down further into child lots–also known as sublots–which are physical vessels that store waste material in preparation for destruction. mceclip0.png The Destruction module splits into three tabs: Destruction Lots, Reusable Vessels/Bins, and Settings. Opening the Destruction module opens the Destruction Lots tab by default. Destruction Lots mceclip1.png The Destruction Lot tab hosts a high-level overview of all Destruction Lots saved to the licence holder's system.
