Through the Packaging Run Waste sub-tab, a QA Technician can destroy waste from a specific Packaging Run associated with a Bulk Lot. This may be necessary if product is spilled or otherwise contaminated during packaging.
Required permission(s): production_read, destruction_lot_read, packaging_run_update
In the Productions module, select a production.

Select a Bulk Lot. This opens the Bulk Lot's Profile.

Open the Destruction tab.

Open the Packaging Run Waste sub-tab.
Click Record New Destruction to open the New Packaging Run Waste modal.
Select a Packaging Run.
If destroying waste from an active Packaging Run:
Open the Active Packaging Runs sub-tab. It should be open by default.
Select a Packaging Run for destruction.
If destroying waste from a closed Packaging Run:
Open the Closed Packaging Runs sub-tab.
Select a Packaging Run for destruction.
To select a Packaging Run by ID number:
Open the Select by ID sub-tab.
Enter the Packaging Run's ID number in the field provided.
Click Next.
Enter information about the destruction in the fields provided.
Weight: The total weight (g) of the destroyed material.
Volume: The total volume (ml) of the destroyed material. This field only appears if the Bulk Lot's type is Extracts, Topicals, or Edibles - Non-solids.
Discrete Units: The quantity of discrete units to destroy. This field only appears if the Bulk Lot uses discrete units as a unit of measure.
Reason: The reason for the destruction.
Visit the Destruction Settings tab to Add a Destruction Reason Code.
Substance Destroyed: The substance to be destroyed.
Visit the Destruction Settings tab to learn how to Add a Destruction Substance Type.
Destruction Lot: The Destruction Lot and Sublot that will house the destroyed material.
Visit the Destruction module to Create a New Destruction Lot or Sublot.
Click Create to save the destruction.
If an error occurs, Revert the Packaging Run Waste Destruction.
The Destruction tab also allows QA Technicians to destroy General Bulk Lot Waste, Bottles, and Retained Samples.
