How to Close a Work Order

The final step in processing cannabis through a Work Order is to select one or more destination Bulk Lots to receive the cannabis. If the Work Order produces cannabis in multiple forms, each unique form will require its own Bulk Lot.

Required permission(s): production_read, bulk_lot_create, work_order_update, work_order_close

  1. In the Work Orders module, select a Work Order in the Finalized stage.

  2. Scroll down to the Outputs section, and select a destination Bulk Lot to output the processed cannabis into by clicking Convert Input Lot to Dried, Assign to Existing Lot, or Assign to New Lot. You may split the Work Order output between multiple Bulk Lots.

    mceclip1.png
    • Note: The Convert Input Lot to Dried button is only clickable if the source Bulk Lot and Work Order meet several criteria. Hover over the button for a list of conditions.

      mceclip2.png
    • To output cannabis to the source lot and convert the source lot to Dried:

      1. Click Convert Input Lot to Dried. This opens a confirmation modal.

        mceclip1.png
      2. Click Convert to return all output to the source lot. The source lot's type will change to Dried.

    • To output cannabis to an existing Bulk Lot:

      1. Click Assign to Existing Lot. This opens the Select Output Bulk Lot modal.

        mceclip3.png
      2. Choose a destination Bulk Lot with the appropriate cannabis form by checking a radio button in the leftmost column. A technician can filter the list of Bulk Lots by selecting an option in the Lot Type field. Once the Processing Technician selects a Bulk Lot, output information appears at the bottom of the modal.

      3. If necessary, create a Child Bulk Lot. Creating a Child Bulk Lot creates a new, empty Bulk Lot with identical information to the selected Bulk Lot. The selected Bulk Lot will have a parent-child relationship with the new Child Lot. However, the Processing Technician can only create a Child Lot if the lot will receive the entire Work Order output; a Child Lot cannot receive a split output. This step is optional, as the Technician can proceed using the Parent Bulk Lot as the destination lot.

        1. Click Create Child Lot.

          mceclip5.png
        2. Open the Location drop-down menu, and select a location for the new Child Lot.

          mceclip6.png
        3. Click Create. The new Child Lot will be identical to the Parent Lot, but its Lot ID will include an extra digit in parentheses.

          mceclip7.png
      4. Indicate how much weight and volume to output to the selected Bulk Lot.

        • To output the entire Work Order, check the Use Entire Work Order box. It will be checked by default.

          mceclip8.png
        • To output a portion of the Work Order, check the Use Custom Amount box and enter the weight and volume to output in the fields provided.

          mceclip9.png
      5. Click Select to add the Bulk Lot as a destination lot.

    • To output cannabis to a new Bulk Lot:

      1. Click Assign to New Lot. This opens the Output to New Bulk Lot modal.

        mceclip11.png
      2. Select the new Bulk Lot's production and Bulk Lot Type in the fields provided. Lot type options are:

        • Dried: Cannabis that has been dried. Cannabis in a Dried Bulk Lot may be in a finished state ready for packaging, or it may require further processing to reach its final saleable form.

        • Edibles - Non-Solids: Edible cannabis in a liquid form. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

        • Edibles - Solids: Edible cannabis in a solid form. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

        • Extracts - Ingested: A refined cannabis extract that a user consumes by ingesting. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

        • Extracts - Inhaled: A refined cannabis extract that a user consumes through inhalation. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

        • Extracts - Other: A refined cannabis extract that a user consumes nasally, rectally, or vaginally. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

        • Fresh: Cannabis in a fresh, post-harvest state. When Harvesting Plants, a Grow Technician must select a Fresh Bulk Lot to receive the post-harvest cannabis.

        • Pure Intermediates: Pure, unrefined cannabis oil extract. This describes the state of cannabis immediately following an Extraction Work Order, before any refinement or further processing has taken place. A user cannot package cannabis from a Pure Intermediates Bulk Lot; the cannabis must be processed further and moved to an Extracts Bulk Lot before packaging takes place.

        • Topicals: Products that include cannabis as an ingredient and that are intended to be used on external body surfaces. This usually describes a Bulk Lot of finished product ready for packaging.

          mceclip12.png
      3. Indicate whether or not the Bulk Lot will be measured in discrete units. This applies to Bulk Lots of capsules, pre-rolls, cookies, or another form that is countable at the unit level. Once you select an option, the modal will expand to include additional fields.

        mceclip13.png
      4. Enter information about the new Bulk Lot in the fields provided.

        mceclip14.png
        • Name: The Bulk Lot's unique name. This is an optional field.

        • Migrated ID: The Bulk Lot's ID as it appears in a foreign management system. This is an optional field.

        • Location: The Bulk Lot's location.

        • Cannabis Form: The form of cannabis in the Bulk Lot.

      5. Indicate how much weight/volume/discrete units to output to the new Bulk Lot.

        • To output the entire Work Order, check the Use Entire Work Order box. It will be checked by default.

          mceclip15.png
        • To output a portion of the Work Order, check the Use Custom Amount box and enter the weight to output in the fields provided. If the Work Order produces liquid output, a field will appear to enter a custom output volume. If the Work Order produces discrete units, a field will appear to enter a custom quantity of discrete units to output to the Bulk Lot.

          mceclip16.png
      6. Click Confirm & Assign to add the new Bulk Lot as a destination lot.

        mceclip17.png
  3. If the Work Order produces multiple cannabis forms that require multiple output Bulk Lots, repeat step 2 as necessary.

  4. Once the Work Order's entire output is directed to one or more Bulk Lots, click Save Output. This sends the output cannabis from the Work Order to the selected Bulk Lot(s).

    mceclip18.png

  5. Click Close Work Order to mark the Work Order as complete. The Work Order's stage is now Closed, and the Processing Technician can click Download PDF Report to generate a summary of the Work Order.

    mceclip19.png

To revert the Work Order back to the Finalized stage, Reset the Work Order's Stage.

Visit the Work Order Workflows section to see examples of how Processing Technicians can use a series of Work Orders to produce a variety of product types.
